I Demand Europcar Honor Windshield Insurance and Waive $735 Charge

I made a vehicle reservation for August 8–16, 2026, through Europcar's UK website and picked up the vehicle from the Europcar office at İzmir Airport. During the booking process, I specifically purchased collision damage protection, which explicitly includes glass and tire damage, by paying an extra fee on the website.

During the rental, a stone struck the windshield causing a crack, and I reported this to Europcar without delay. However, the Europcar office in Turkey claimed that the insurance I purchased in advance through the Europcar UK website was invalid and demanded $735 from me for the windshield replacement.

Following this, I contacted the Europcar UK office; they confirmed that the insurance I purchased was indeed valid and fully covered the windshield damage. Despite this, the Turkey office continues to insist on their stance and demands payment. Receiving completely contradictory information from two different branches of the same company and having the insurance I prepaid for completely ignored has not only victimized me but also destroyed my trust in the brand.

I demand that Europcar recognize the glass and tire damage insurance I purchased through their website during booking as valid for the rental in Turkey, that the $735 windshield replacement fee not be charged to me, and that my claim be urgently resolved under my insurance coverage.
