I Report $4600 Theft From My Bag On Etihad EY5748 Abu Dhabi–Istanbul Flight
On the night of 24.06.2025, I was flying from Abu Dhabi to Istanbul on Etihad Airways flight EY5748. During the night flight, while most passengers—including myself—were sleeping, my personal bag was tampered with and $4600 in cash was stolen. I later learned that several other passengers also experienced theft from their bags on this same flight.
As a passenger who trusted Etihad Airways for my safety and security, I am devastated and feel completely unprotected. I expected the highest standards of security and oversight, especially during an overnight international flight. The loss of $4600 has caused me severe financial and emotional distress.
I urgently request Etihad Airways to immediately investigate this criminal act, identify and apprehend those responsible, and compensate me for my financial loss. Such security breaches on international flights are unacceptable and damage your company’s reputation.
The same thing happened to me 2 days ago (26 Feb 2026) on a connected flight from EY441 Manila to EY541 Abu Dhabi to Istanbul. I notified all the relevant parties, but I’m trying to find other people who were on the same flights as me. How did the process go for you? Were you able to recover your loss?
