Enterprise Billed Me Three Months After Basel Rental Despite Full Payment
I rented a car through Enterprise at Switzerland's Basel Airport, using a reservation I made in advance. On February 10, 2025, when I arrived at the Enterprise desk, I was told to add liability insurance and winter tires to the rental. Although my initial booking was around 250 Swiss francs, the total climbed to 460 CHF after these additions, which I paid in full with my credit card on the spot. I returned the car without any issues on February 17, 2025.
However, three months later, I received a physical letter stating I owed an additional 254 CHF. I was completely shocked—there was no explanation, and no prior notice. I paid the full amount at the time of rental and have receipts to prove it. Why am I being asked to pay again months later?
This kind of follow-up charge feels completely unjustified. I demand that Enterprise clarify the source of this new charge and cancel it immediately. If I don’t receive a clear and fair resolution, I will have no choice but to escalate the issue legally. Customers should not be penalized after making full payments and returning vehicles in proper condition.
