Dyson G1 Wash Handle Broke Just After Warranty, Repair Fee Unfair

I purchased a Dyson G1 Wash wet & dry vacuum cleaner from Dyson’s own online store and have been using it in İzmir. In June 2026, approximately two months after the end of the warranty period, the weak plastic part inside the handle broke, even though there was no impact or trauma to the device. I believe this situation is due to a production and design defect, because a structural part such as the handle should not break under normal use shortly after the end of the warranty. After the incident, I contacted Dyson customer service by phone. Despite explaining that there was no misuse and that the part broke on its own, I was told that a service fee of ₺5,300 would be requested for the repair. I find it unfair that I am asked to pay such a high fee for a part which appears to have a design and production weakness. I request that the broken part of my Dyson G1 Wash be replaced free of charge and that this issue be evaluated as a production and design defect rather than a paid repair.
