Receiving Discord Emails for Unverified Account – Requesting Account Closure

In 2020, someone I don’t know attempted to create a Discord account using my email address. I received a verification email to confirm the account, which I did not approve. However, I continue to receive emails from Discord, indicating that the account may be active.

Is it possible for an account to be created and used without verification? If so, I request that this unverified account associated with my email be closed immediately.
