While driving my BYD Seal U DM-i, which has only 1,000 km on it, across Istanbul’s Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, both the tablet screen and driver information display suddenly went black. A warning message appeared in Chinese characters, and after translating it, I learned that the car had switched to “basic mode”.

I immediately took the car to the Edirnekapı BYD service center, hoping they could at least take a quick look and confirm whether it was a minor issue. However, despite explaining that the car was still drivable and that only the screens had failed, they told me they were too busy to assist and scheduled an appointment eight days later.

I then contacted BYD Turkey, but they provided no solution either. I understand that BYD is new to the Turkish market and still expanding its service network, but forcing a customer to wait over a week without even checking the issue is unacceptable.

Right now, my brand-new car is sitting in my garage, undrivable. BYD, how do you plan to fix this? I demand a faster resolution and proper service support! Has anyone else experienced this issue?
