3-Month-Old Beko Fridge with Lingering Odor
I've only had my Beko fridge for three months, and there's a strong odor from the moment I open it. I've called the service center three times in response. During the initial visit, the technician recommended using a specific fridge cleaner, which I promptly purchased from Beko's service center. I followed the usage instructions exactly, and there was no odor for a day. It did, however, return shortly afterward. I put a jug of water inside to make sure it wasn't just me, and even the water absorbed the smell. During the second service call, I explained the situation once more and gave the customer a glass of water with the odor. The technician acknowledged the problem but stated that there was nothing they could do. He recommended cleaning with baking soda, using their products, adding tea leaves, and leaving the fridge unplugged for at least two days with the doors open. I did as I was told, but the problem persisted. I called again today and followed the same procedure. However, I was informed that the odor has improved slightly, but it still lingers. They have a three-month-old refrigerator with cutting-edge technology, but they can't seem to find a solution. I'm requesting a replacement, and if my request isn't met, I'm prepared to file a complaint with the Consumer Arbitration Board. I'm willing to pursue every legal option. People spend a lot of money on household appliances and even get extended warranties, but the lack of resolution is disheartening. I intend to return to the dealer where I purchased the refrigerator and, if necessary, escalate the situation. Please take careful note of this, Beko.
