Barnes & Noble In-Store Pickup Fail, Delayed Orders & Damaged Books
Placed the order online on June 16th, specifically choosing "in-store pickup" because, wanted my books fast and supposedly in good condition. Their website promised the order would be ready in two hours. June 17th. I head to the store, they said no books ready for me... I show them the confirmation email clearly stating my order was "Ready for Pickup," even got my ID ready, the staff just looked confused, like they'd never seen an in-store pickup email before. they manage to dig up my order. Except...it wasn't exactly what I ordered. Some of the books looked like they'd been through a warzone – bent spines, ripped covers, the whole works. This is after I specifically went with in-store pickup to avoid damaged goods! I could've ordered online and had them delivered if I wanted beat-up books!
