Complaint Regarding Apple Watch Sport Loop Color Deformation

On September 26, 2025, I purchased an Apple Watch Series 10 GPS 42 mm Jet Black Aluminium Case with Ink Sport Loop from the authorized reseller Vatan in Türkiye. The Sport Loop that came with the product has developed significant and clearly visible discoloration during normal daily use. The Apple Watch and its Sport Loop have only been used under normal daily conditions. I have not used the product in swimming pools, in the sea, or in any other unusual or harsh conditions that could reasonably be expected to cause such discoloration or deterioration of the band. On August 6, 2026, I contacted Apple Support and reported the issue, requesting that the Sport Loop be inspected and replaced. I was informed that the discoloration was considered normal wear and tear and my request for inspection and replacement was rejected without any physical examination of the product. I find this outcome unreasonable. The product is covered by a two‑year warranty, and the Sport Loop itself is sold as a premium accessory for approximately TRY 2,500 in Türkiye. Despite this positioning and warranty period, the Sport Loop has developed substantial color deformation in less than 11 months of normal daily use, which is less than half of the stated warranty period. I understand that normal wear and tear may not be covered by warranty. However, I do not accept that such a clear and early color degradation under normal conditions is automatically classified as normal wear and tear without even inspecting the product. In my view, this raises a reasonable concern about the durability and quality of the material used. For these reasons, I kindly request that Apple reconsider my case, inspect the Sport Loop and assess whether the discoloration is compatible with the expected durability and quality standards of this accessory. If, after inspection, the issue is found to be related to a material or manufacturing defect, I request that the Sport Loop be replaced under warranty. I respectfully ask for a fair reassessment of my case and a solution that reflects both the premium nature of the product and consumer protection principles in Türkiye.
