Apple Charged $20 for a BeautyPlus Free Trial
On July 31, 2026, I accepted a three-day free trial offer for the BeautyPlus app that appeared on my screen through the Apple App Store. Because the offer clearly stated “3-day free trial,” I started the trial without expecting to be charged. However, shortly afterward, approximately $20 was charged to my account.
I submitted a request through the Apple App Store regarding this issue, and the case ID provided to me was 20000130103272. When I later spoke with Apple Support by phone, I was told that the charge occurred because I had used this free trial last year. However, I do not remember ever using such a trial before. Since the screen clearly presented me with another “Start 3-day free trial” offer, I accepted it assuming that I would not be charged.
From my perspective, this was a misleading transaction. There was no clear or prominent notice on the screen indicating that I would be charged, and if I had known I would have to pay, I would never have accepted the offer. I was therefore unfairly charged for an offer that was presented to me as a free trial.
I request that the Apple App Store investigate this issue, refund the approximately $20 charge associated with the BeautyPlus subscription, and ensure that users are clearly informed about any charges associated with similar “free trial” offers.
