Apple App Store Charged Me $156 for an Unwanted Meta Verified Renewal

I experienced a significant issue during the renewal of my Meta Verified Max subscription through Instagram because Apple and Meta charged me without my authorization or any prior notification.

My subscription was scheduled to expire on March 23, 2026. However, an early payment request was initiated through the Apple App Store subscription linked to my Instagram account one day before the expiration date, and $156 was charged to my account at 7:21:10 a.m. on March 23. I received no notification, warning, or confirmation email before this charge. On the final day of my membership, March 23, I canceled the subscription through my iPhone at around 1:27 p.m. The invoice for the payment was not sent to me until 3:11 p.m., after I had already canceled the subscription. As a result, I only learned that my money had been charged and the subscription had been renewed after I had already completed the cancellation process.

When I contacted Meta/Instagram Support, my refund request was denied on the grounds that the subscription had to be canceled at least 24 hours in advance. I believe both Apple and Meta are responsible for this situation because the charge was made early in the morning without my knowledge, the invoice was sent only after the charge and cancellation, and this effectively restricted my ability to cancel the subscription in time. I did not use the renewed service and canceled it on the same day, so I request a full refund of the $156 charged through the Apple App Store to the original payment method.

My order number for this transaction is MKX7B5V3S2, and my document number is 690109565930.
