My Akbank Axess credit card statement for August 2025 showed a balance of ₺96,959.72, with the due date set as 01.09.2025. I paid the full amount on 02.09.2025, just one day after the due date, yet a very high late interest charge of ₺5,637 was applied for this single day of delay. The details of this charge are clearly stated on the statement. I had faced a similar situation before and was again charged an unreasonably high interest. I am questioning the legality and fairness of this practice. I contacted Akbank customer service, and they informed me that they would initiate a review, but I have since closed my card due to this issue. I am requesting that this excessive interest charged for only one day of delay be reconsidered and reduced.
