Airbnb Double Payment Problem – Charged Twice for Same Booking
Between September 12 and November 1, I stayed in Hanoi, Vietnam, in an Airbnb accommodation. During my stay, I extended the booking and made an additional payment of ₺7,663.78. However, the same amount was charged twice, which I clearly saw on my mobile banking app. When I contacted Halkbank customer service, they confirmed that the two identical transactions were processed with the same transaction code, on the same date and for the same amount.
I reported this issue to Airbnb multiple times, providing screenshots of my account activity as evidence. Despite this, Airbnb claimed that the second transaction was declined and attempted to close the case without resolving it. The PDF document they sent me as proof was incomplete and unconvincing, failing to explain why two identical payments were processed.
I’m deeply disappointed that Airbnb has ignored such clear evidence and has not refunded the duplicate payment. I request that the extra ₺7,663.78 charge be refunded immediately and that Airbnb review this case properly instead of dismissing it without investigation.
