Hear it from me they can eat into our profits a lot, and honestly, they weren't always super clear upfront. managing all these payments and dealing with late payers is a whole extra thing to worry about. You say customers don't get charged extra if they pay on time, but guess who has to chase down late payments? Us! That creates extra work and can lead to awkward situations with customers who might not understand the terms. it attracts younger shoppers with flexible payments, but it also puts our relationship with them at arm's length. If something goes wrong with Afterpay's service, it reflects badly on us, even if it's not our fault.
