Academia.edu Premium Subscription Charged Without Authorization

I am writing to report two unauthorized charges made by Academia.edu on my virtual BCR card, used through Google Pay, with the ending 2342, and to request a full refund. On 27.05.2026 and 18.06.2026, I was charged 64.74 USD each time for a Premium subscription on the account linked to the email address adrianc****[email protected], even though I did not authorize these payments, did not request a Premium subscription, and did not use any Premium services. I first noticed the problem on 27.05.2026, when I saw the charge and realized that this was not something I had knowingly agreed to. These amounts represent money that I need for my children’s medicines, so this situation is creating real financial and personal difficulties for me. After noticing the charges, I contacted Academia.edu to request the cancellation of the Premium subscription and a refund of the full amounts withdrawn. However, so far I have not received any confirmation that my money will be returned. Through this complaint, I am firmly requesting the immediate cancellation of any Premium subscription and the full refund of all unauthorized charges of 64.74 USD each, taken on 27.05.2026 and 18.06.2026, back to my BCR virtual card used via Google Pay. I also kindly ask to be informed in writing once this issue has been resolved.
