On August 18, 2025, at 6:10 p.m., I went to Yapı ve Kredi Bankası A.Ş. ATM number 104977 located at Eskişehir Vişnelik Hasan Polatkan Cultural Center to deposit money into my own account.
During my first transaction, I inserted my card, entered my PIN, and the cash deposit slot opened. I do not remember the exact amount I inserted, but I placed more than 40 banknotes into the machine. The ATM began counting and displayed 18,100 TL (approximately $560) on the screen. At that point, the ATM failed to count a portion of my money and retained it inside.
Since I believed the displayed amount was lower than what I had deposited, I pressed the cancel button and retrieved the 18,100 TL (approximately $560). Because I canceled the transaction, no deposit record was created.
During my second transaction at around 6:20 p.m., I again inserted my card, entered my PIN, and deposited the 18,100 TL (approximately $560) into my account. There was no issue with this second transaction. The problem occurred entirely during my first visit to the ATM.
In the first transaction, the ATM retained a portion of my money. Based on the sequence of events and the total amount of cash I had with me, I am certain that part of my money was kept by the ATM during the canceled transaction, and I believe I have suffered a financial loss as a result.
I kindly request that the ATM logs be reviewed carefully, including the first canceled transaction, that the amount retained by the ATM be identified and reimbursed to me, and that my complaint be resolved urgently. I also request that ATM camera footage and transaction activity between 6:10 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. be examined as part of this investigation.
