Wizz Air Flight W6 2488 Canceled After Hours of Waiting

May 26 6:39 AM

On May 25, we arrived at Ankara Esenboğa Airport at approximately 5:00 p.m. for our Wizz Air flight W6 2488 to Budapest, which was scheduled to depart at 8:25 p.m. After waiting for hours without any meaningful updates, food, or drinking water, our flight was eventually canceled. As of 6:11 a.m. on May 26, we were still being kept on airport buses with no clear information about whether a replacement flight would be provided or when we would be able to continue our journey.

Throughout this ordeal, neither the airport staff nor Wizz Air's customer service provided a satisfactory explanation. Because of the cancellation and the airline's poor handling of the situation, our entire travel itinerary was disrupted. Our prepaid hotel reservations, rental car bookings, and many other travel expenses were wasted as a direct result of the cancellation. In total, approximately 290 passengers, filling three buses, were left stranded for hours under these conditions.

I respectfully request full reimbursement for all financial losses resulting from this cancellation, including prepaid hotel accommodations, rental car costs, and every other reasonable expense we incurred because of the disrupted trip. I also request that Wizz Air investigate why passengers were left for such an extended period without adequate food, water, or communication, hold the responsible parties accountable, and implement meaningful changes to ensure that other travelers are not subjected to the same treatment in the future.
