Viber Sent Verification Codes to My Phone Number Without My Permission
On July 4, 2026, my father received SMS messages from the Viber app containing verification codes on his Turkcell phone number. None of us in the family use Viber, and we did not create this account. We only noticed the messages today. We are therefore concerned that someone may have attempted to create a Viber account using my father’s phone number without our authorization or may already be using an account associated with his number without our knowledge.
If there is a Viber account associated with my father’s phone number that was not created by us, we request that it be identified and immediately deactivated. We also ask Viber to conduct the necessary checks regarding the security of the phone line and our personal information, take appropriate measures to prevent the number from being misused, and provide us with a clear written explanation of the situation.
We request that Viber customer support contact us as soon as possible and provide a detailed explanation of why these verification codes were sent, whether there is any Viber account associated with our phone number, and what happened to that account, while also taking any necessary action to resolve the issue.
