I Face Excessive Overpricing on Viagogo Concert Ticket Purchase
I purchased a concert ticket for the T***** event through the Viagogo platform, expecting fair pricing. However, I was shocked to see that I paid ₺3.102,50 for a ticket that my friend bought for only ₺1.200. The reason for this inflated price is that Viagogo charges ticket prices in €, leading to significant overpricing when converted to Turkish Lira.
When I contacted Viagogo support to express my concerns, they explained that the platform operates as a ticket-sharing marketplace, meaning prices can fluctuate drastically. But this does not justify charging more than double the market value for the same event. Unless we’re talking about an international concert like M****** J****** in America, such extreme markups are unacceptable.
This is the second time I’ve felt deceived by Viagogo. On top of that, the tickets only became available right before the concert started, causing unnecessary stress. Discovering the true cost at the last minute left me feeling completely taken advantage of.
I explicitly request a partial refund reflecting the market price difference and a formal explanation for these excessive markups.
