Viagogo is absolutely a site to avoid when buying or selling event tickets. It shows up first in search results, especially when you’re urgently looking for tickets, but don’t be fooled—this platform is misleading and can cost you dearly.
I bought a ticket through Viagogo and later decided to resell it. During the resale process, I selected the option to be paid in Turkish lira. What I didn’t realize is that Viagogo would convert the amount, not the value. I originally paid £400, but when they issued the resale payment, I received just ₺400—a massive financial loss and a complete misrepresentation of fair exchange.
This kind of payment policy is deceptive. It gives customers a false sense of security when selling tickets, only to shock them later with absurdly low payouts. I feel cheated, and others should be warned.
Viagogo needs to immediately change this practice, disclose all currency conversion details clearly, and compensate sellers fairly. I demand that they refund the difference or issue proper payment based on the actual value of my original transaction. Do not trust this platform with your money.
