Delita City Hotel Overcharged For Room Upgrade After Crib Request

Between October 26 and 28, 2025, I booked an economy room at Delita City Hotel through the Trivago app. During the reservation, I specifically noted that a crib should be placed in the room for our one-year-old baby and completed the payment. To be sure, I also found the hotel’s phone number online and called to confirm. The receptionist confirmed my reservation and the crib request, assuring me that a crib would be placed in the room. However, just a few hours before our check-in, we were told that the economy room was too small to fit a crib and that we would need to upgrade to a larger room for an additional €40 (approximately $61). When we arrived at the hotel, I explained that I had previously confirmed the crib request by phone, but they blamed the issue on a new staff member’s lack of information and refused to honor my request. As a result, I was forced to pay an extra $61 in cash to the receptionist, on top of the $177 I had already paid. Later that evening, I spoke again with the receptionist, but no solution was offered and my grievance was not resolved. I do not accept being charged extra due to the hotel’s own staff error and request a refund of the $61 that was unfairly charged to me.
