Delita City Hotel Forced Extra Payment After Confirming Crib Request

Between October 26–28, 2025, I booked an economy room at Delita City Hotel through the Trivago app. During the reservation process, I specifically requested in the notes section that a crib (travel cot) be provided in the room for our 1-year-old baby, and I completed the payment.
To ensure the request was confirmed, I also called the hotel directly using the number I found online. The receptionist confirmed both my reservation and crib request, assuring me that a crib would be placed in the room.
However, just a few hours before our arrival, we called the hotel again and were told that the economy room was too small to fit a crib, and that we would need to upgrade to a larger room for an extra €40.
When we arrived at the hotel, I explained that I had already confirmed the crib request by phone, but they claimed the issue was due to a new staff member’s mistake and refused to honor my original request. As a result, I was forced to pay an additional $57 in cash on top of the $166 I had already paid for the reservation.
Later that evening, I discussed the situation again with the receptionist, but no solution was offered and my complaint was not resolved. I do not accept being charged extra due to an error made by the hotel’s own staff.
I therefore request an immediate refund of the additional $57 that was unfairly charged to me.
