The North Face Nuptse Jacket Loses Loft and Warmth After Washing

About 1.5 years ago, I purchased a Women’s 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket in Black Currant Purple from The North Face’s official website for approximately $490. While using and washing the jacket, I followed all the care instructions on the label exactly.

This winter, I noticed that the down filling inside the jacket started to come out in places, sticking out like threads. After washing, the jacket completely lost its loft, became flat, and now looks more like a thin rain jacket or liner. It no longer functions as a puffer jacket in terms of either appearance or warmth.

I purchased this jacket because I liked its puffer style and paid a high price for it, but now I cannot use it during cold winter days while going to school and feel inconvenienced. I have not yet sent the product to any store or service center, as I honestly did not know what steps to take.

I cannot accept that such an expensive, high-brand-value product has deteriorated this quickly. I request that The North Face stand behind its product, inspect my jacket, and, if it is found defective, provide a customer-focused solution such as a replacement or refund.
