Skywell ET5 Display Glitch Triggers Dispute Over High Software Repair Fees
I have been experiencing a serious issue with the tablet display screen of my Skywell ET5 for two days. Text simply flashes on the screen, but the system fails to boot up or function at all. The problem started yesterday, and today I called the authorized service center in İzmir, Akf Grup Skywell.
The representative at the service center stated that they charge $198 (7,500 TL) per software installation attempt, adding that they could not predict in advance how many installations would be required. Under consumer protection legislation, I believe there should be no such pricing model or uncertainty regarding software updates. Furthermore, I called Skywell authorized service centers in other provinces and learned that they do not impose such exorbitant pricing. Requesting such a high and unpredictable fee simply due to the comfort of being the sole local authorized service center—forcing me to visit the service without knowing what cost I will face—makes me deeply uneasy.
As a Skywell owner, I demand that the software service charges at İzmir Akf Grup Skywell be reduced to a reasonable level and that a transparent, predictable pricing policy consistent with other authorized service centers across the country be implemented. I request that the tablet screen issue on my vehicle be resolved under this fair pricing framework.
