Sixt Tirana Airport Keeps $100 Deposit Months After Car Returned With No Damage
From October 13 to October 17, 2025, we rented a Peugeot 208 from the Sixt branch at Tirana Airport in Albania. We paid the rental fee by card, and an additional $100 deposit was charged to our card at the time of pickup. On October 17th, between 12:00 and 1:00 PM, we returned the vehicle to the staff with no issues — they confirmed there was no damage or any other problem with the car.
At the time of return, we were told the $100 deposit would be refunded to our card. However, from that day to this, no refund has appeared. We have tried reaching the branch by email but have received no response. We also contacted the Sixt branch in Turkey, but they were equally unhelpful and the matter remains unresolved.
We find it completely unacceptable for an international company of this size to treat its customers this way. We are demanding that the $100 deposit taken from us be returned to our card as soon as possible.
