Sephora Dior Sauvage EDP Spoiled – Replacement Request After Rejection

1

In 2022, during the Black Friday campaign at Sephora Maltepe Piazza store, I purchased four perfumes. I have been using three of them without any problem. However, I stored the Dior Sauvage EDP 60 ml perfume unopened in its sealed box in a cupboard away from sunlight and only wanted to start using it in August 2026, when my other perfumes were running low. The moment I sprayed it for the first time, I was met with an intense and suffocating chemical smell. It seemed spoiled, and I had never experienced such an issue before with this perfume, which I had used many times in the past. When I reported the situation to the Sephora Maltepe Piazza store, I was told that since four years had passed, they could not send the product for examination. I clearly stated that I bought other perfumes under the same conditions on the same date and that I was using them without any issues, and that only this product had a problem, yet they did not help. After that, I described the situation via e‑mail to the authorized distributor in Turkey, Arcon Kozmetik, and they kindly supported me in sending the product for re‑examination. I handed the product over to the store and was given a document in return. Around 7–10 days later, I received a call from the store saying that the product had returned from examination and a rejection decision was given. However, no clear explanation was provided to me, and I was not given any detailed information or justification about the deterioration in the scent. Despite reminding the issue by e‑mail 2–3 more times, I did not receive any response. This process and the spoiled scent have negatively affected my feelings and perception towards perfumes. While the other perfumes I purchased during Black Friday under the same conditions are problem‑free, only this product being faulty should, in my opinion, be taken into consideration. I expect Sephora to stand behind both its product and its customer in this matter. I am not seeking a refund; I am requesting a replacement for the spoiled product or a reasonable, explanatory solution and a sound, satisfactory response.
