On 3 April 2026, I used the service Resumaker.ai and selected the “one-time CV download / 14-day premium access for 2.99 PLN” option. The checkout page prominently displayed the 2.99 PLN amount as if it were a one-time payment for downloading my CV, which led me to believe this was not a recurring service. The information about a subscription and a later 98 PLN charge was only placed in very small, low-visibility text below the payment form. The recurring subscription terms were displayed in a manner that could easily be overlooked by an average consumer, due to the combination of a very small font size, low-contrast grey text, and their placement below the main payment section. At no point was I clearly and prominently informed, either on the website or by email, that this 2.99 PLN payment would convert into a 98 PLN recurring subscription after 14 days, nor did I receive a clear warning email before the higher amount was charged. On 17 April 2026, I was automatically charged 98 PLN without my clear and informed consent to such recurring billing. As soon as I noticed this unexpected charge, I cancelled the subscription and requested a refund from Resumaker.ai, but the seller refused to return the 98 PLN. I then opened a dispute through PayPal under transaction ID 1NN81317EE988302V; however, PayPal rejected the case with the generic explanation that the transaction had been processed correctly, without addressing the issue of hidden subscription terms and lack of informed consent. Afterwards, I researched the company online and found numerous similar complaints from other users who described the same pattern: subscription terms being hidden or poorly disclosed, unexpected 98 PLN charges after a low initial fee, difficulties cancelling, and systematic refusal to refund. Based on these facts, I consider the billing model and the presentation of the subscription on Resumaker.ai to be misleading and harmful to consumers, as it does not ensure clear, transparent, and prominent disclosure of recurring charges. I request a full refund of the 98 PLN taken on 17 April 2026, and I would also like to warn other consumers to be very careful when using this service.
