I’m beyond frustrated with my Realme C55. One night, I started the latest software update as prompted, and by morning, my phone appeared completely shut off. It turns out the phone was technically on, but the screen was totally black and unresponsive. I restarted it, and it worked—until I locked it. Then the screen blacked out again every time I used the lock button. It became completely unreliable and unusable.
So I called Realme customer support. They admitted it was a software issue from the update and told me to take it to the nearest authorized service center. Sounds simple, right? Wrong.
Once I got there, they refused to honor the warranty! They claimed there was a minor bend near the side button (which still works perfectly fine, by the way) and said they wouldn’t touch the screen issue unless I paid to fix the button first. This is clearly an excuse to deny free service and squeeze more money out of loyal customers. My phone is just one year old, and it’s shameful to use such a tiny cosmetic flaw—on a fully working part—to reject a warranty claim about a known update bug.
