Planet Fitness Membership Cancellation Hassle

It has been an absolute ordeal to attempt to terminate my membership at Planet Fitness South County. After two years of excellent service, I had to relocate to a different state for work. I contacted customer support, and they advised me to go visit my gym in order to cancel my membership. What a ridiculous procedure! I still have to physically go to the gym in order to terminate my membership, even though we live in an AI-driven, mobile-first world. What a complete and utter irrational nutjob. Consumers need better safeguards against deceitful business practices like these, in my view. Every company should have a phone number or functional website that customers can use to cancel their subscriptions.
