Missing Valuables From Baggage Under Pegasus Custody
I traveled with Pegasus on June 28, 2026, on the route Vienna International Airport – Antalya – Almaty, with the booking number 1QHY5M and ticket number 624-2225400879, under the passenger name Ainur T***. After this trip, I discovered that valuable items worth a total of 3,270 EUR were missing from my checked baggage. When I collected my suitcase at the destination, it appeared intact from the outside, so I had no reason to suspect any problem at the airport. Only after arriving home and opening the suitcase did I realize that the baggage had clearly been opened and that valuables were missing. For this reason, I did not receive a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) at the airport: it was simply impossible to identify the loss before unpacking the luggage at home. Following the incident, we contacted Pegasus to report the missing valuables from the checked baggage. We also filed a report with the police in Almaty and contacted Vienna Airport. The Almaty police investigated the case and obtained information from Almaty Airport, confirming that the suitcase was not opened there. Vienna Airport informed us that they have no access to Pegasus baggage handling operations, as Pegasus uses a different ground handling company at Vienna, and therefore they could not assist further. Given these circumstances, I request that Pegasus conduct a thorough investigation supported by documented evidence into how my baggage was accessed and my valuables were removed during the journey. In addition, I expect full reimbursement of the loss in the amount of 3,270 EUR. I kindly ask for a clear, written response regarding the outcome of your investigation and the compensation process.
