Paribu Made Me Lose Money on Filecoin Purchase With Price Manipulation
On 01.09.2025 at 12:10, I purchased Filecoin (FIL) via bank transfer on Paribu. At that time, Filecoin was priced around ₺100 on all other platforms, but on Paribu it appeared as ₺144, with a price increase rate of 45% compared to only 5% on other platforms. The moment I completed the purchase, Paribu instantly adjusted its price to match the other platforms at ₺100. As a result, I lost approximately ₺20,000 in just one second. I have experienced similar price discrepancies and sudden drops many times before, with total losses of around ₺500,000–₺600,000, and I believe at least ₺90,000–₺110,000 of this resulted from Paribu’s price manipulations. Despite contacting Paribu customer service numerous times regarding this issue, I only received the response “it’s related to supply, nothing can be done,” and my grievance was not resolved. I also did not receive any warning or notification during the transaction. As a long-time user who has been trading continuously on Paribu for years, I demand compensation for my losses and a refund of my money. I want my grievance to be resolved.
Hello, Paribu is a crypto asset trading platform that brings together buyers and sellers and provides its users with technical infrastructure services. It is not a buyer or seller of crypto assets. All buy and sell orders on Paribu belong to the users. Therefore, the prices of cryptocurrencies are determined based on users’ buy and sell transactions, user reactions, and supply/demand conditions. All buy, sell, and transaction decisions regarding our users’ balances belong to the users themselves. The price of a commodity that is higher globally can only decrease if users sell it at a lower price. The cost of the party selling the cryptocurrency you mentioned, why they are selling at a loss compared to global prices, etc., are beyond our area of monitoring and control. It does not provide any benefit for the platform to execute transactions contrary to the current prices on different platforms. In order for the current price to change, there must be buying and selling. The current price cannot change while the orders on the order book remain in their positions. Each platform has its own internal dynamics, user base, trading volume, and number of pending orders, which are all different parameters. In the highly volatile cryptocurrency market, the speed and nature of the reactions of user groups trading on different platforms to local/global news and developments can vary. This can naturally lead to price differences between platforms. All transactions are published transparently and instantly in the market history section. You can also monitor and check the situation from there.
