Omio Withholds Refund Unless You Drop Credit Card Dispute
I booked a train journey through Omio with the operator Inyo from the United States, with travel scheduled for February 12, 2026, for a total of approximately 580 USD. On the day of travel, February 12, 2026, the train company canceled the trip and refunded the ticket fare to Omio. Despite this, Omio has refused to pass this refund on to me. Instead, Omio has stated that although they agree I am due a refund, they will only pay it after I close the dispute I opened with my credit card company. In other words, they are holding back the refund that rightly belongs to me and are trying to force me to withdraw my credit card dispute first. I find this practice unfair and very concerning, especially since the service was canceled by the train company and the money has already been returned to Omio. I have written communication from Omio confirming both the cancellation and their statement that I must close my dispute before they will process the refund. I request that Omio immediately refund the full amount of approximately 580 USD to my original payment method without any condition that I first close the credit card dispute, and that they review and correct this practice so that other customers are not put in a similar position.
