I Bought a Nintendo Switch OLED from MediaMarkt, but the NSO Code Didn't Work

I purchased a Nintendo Switch OLED from MediaMarkt, distributed by CD Media, specifically because it included a Mario game and a one-year Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) subscription. I paid ₺23,749 after discounts. The console arrived, but the NSO code didn’t work — it returned an error every time I tried to redeem it. The box also claimed to include a Turkish user manual, which was missing, though that was a minor issue.

I had bought this as a birthday gift for my daughter, so time was important. I went to MediaMarkt, and while their in-store staff were kind and directed me to call CD Media for technical support, things went downhill from there. The representative I reached, E*** Bey, seemed unfamiliar with the issue and said someone would call me back. Nobody ever did, and they never answered my follow-up calls either.

Because I couldn’t resolve the issue in time, I couldn’t give the gift to my daughter on her birthday. Eventually, MediaMarkt kindly accepted a return — after checking that the device hadn’t been used.

The biggest letdown here was CD Media, the so-called official Nintendo distributor in Turkey. The support was nonexistent, making their 24-month “warranty” essentially meaningless. Anyone buying Nintendo products in Turkey should be extremely cautious. The after-sales support is not reliable, even from official channels. Nintendo, please do better — we deserve proper customer service.
