My Nintendo Switch Repair Denied Due to Regional Restrictions, Seeking Resolution
A few months ago, we purchased a Nintendo Switch from Japan, and the device has now malfunctioned. We sent it to the technical service, and they informed us that the motherboard was damaged due to liquid contact. We understand that this issue is not covered under warranty, but we were shocked to be told that the device could not be repaired, even if we were willing to pay for it, simply because it was purchased in Japan. We were aware that warranty wouldn’t apply, but we never expected that we’d be unable to get the device repaired at all. Are we really expected to travel to Japan to get it fixed? As a trusted, global brand, we believe Nintendo should address this issue and find a way to resolve our situation. We request that Nintendo provide a solution for this repair dilemma, as it’s unreasonable to have a product that can’t be serviced outside its purchase region.
