I Believe My Litmatch Ban Until 2124 Is Excessive and Unfair
My Litmatch account was banned approximately one week ago, and the restriction is set to remain in place until the year 2124. I was informed that the reason for the ban was the use of inappropriate language. However, I believe such an extremely long-term restriction is excessive, disproportionate, and unfair considering the nature of the alleged violation.
After receiving the ban, I contacted Litmatch through email and explained the situation in detail. I expressed my concerns regarding the severity of the penalty and requested that the decision be reviewed. Despite my efforts, the response I received simply stated that the company believed the punishment was justified and therefore would not remove the restriction. No flexibility, additional explanation, or meaningful reconsideration of the case was offered.
I understand the importance of community guidelines and the need to enforce platform rules. However, I believe that penalties should be proportionate to the violation. In cases like this, a warning, temporary suspension, or another reasonable corrective measure would be far more appropriate than effectively blocking access to an account for decades.
The current restriction has prevented me from accessing my account and continuing to use a platform that I previously enjoyed. As a result, I feel unfairly penalized and left without a realistic opportunity to correct my behavior or return to the community.
I respectfully request that Litmatch review the ban decision once again, reconsider the length of the penalty, and restore access to my account. At the very least, I would appreciate a detailed explanation of why such an unusually severe restriction was deemed necessary and whether any appeal process remains available.
