I Face KitchenAid Ice Cream Attachment Breakage From Weak Plastic Parts

I have been using my KitchenAid Artisan mixer regularly for many years, but I am extremely dissatisfied with the ice cream attachment. The plastic used in a critical load-bearing section of the attachment appears to be very fragile, and I have experienced the same part breaking twice within three years. Since ice cream can become very firm during preparation, using plastic in such a high-stress area does not seem appropriate for the intended purpose of the product.

The first failure occurred in May 2024, and I had to purchase a new attachment for approximately $19. The second failure happened again on July 7, 2026, and this time I was quoted approximately $37 for the replacement part. Experiencing two failures in the same area within a relatively short period strongly suggests a problem with the design or material choice.

I purchased the product from the Enplus store in Kanyon. When I contacted them about the issue, the only solution offered was to purchase another replacement part. No solution-oriented response was provided regarding the possibility of poor material quality or a design defect. This experience has negatively affected both my trust in the brand and my perception of the product’s value for money, and I can no longer recommend this attachment to others.

I expect KitchenAid to redesign this component using a more durable material suitable for handling firm mixtures such as ice cream. For customers who have already experienced repeated failures, I also request that KitchenAid introduce a free or reasonably priced replacement or upgrade program rather than requiring users to repeatedly purchase the same fragile component.
