My Garmin Forerunner 55 Battery Failed After Three Years
On October 12, 2023, I purchased a Garmin Forerunner 55 smartwatch on Amazon.com from the official seller Amazon.com.tr. As of April 1, 2026, the device automatically shuts down whenever I attempt to start an activity, rendering it unusable for its intended purpose.
Following this issue, I initially contacted Amazon.com.tr, where customer support advised me to reach out to Garmin Turkey for repair procedures. I then sent several detailed emails to both Garmin and Garmin Turkey, but received no response whatsoever. Subsequently, I called Baytekin, the official distributor of Garmin in Turkey. Over the phone, I was informed that the device is considered an "older model," that Garmin no longer supports it, and that no repair options—whether paid or under warranty—could be offered.
Being denied post-sale support for a product that is less than three years old and functionally operational, and being forced to discard a watch due to what appears to be a simple battery issue, has caused me significant financial and personal distress. Furthermore, the inability to provide even a simple battery replacement service has caused great disappointment, as I was unaware of how inadequate Garmin Turkey's post-sale service is.
Even though the product is outside its warranty period, I request that a paid battery replacement or repair option be provided, and that necessary technical support be granted to restore the device to working condition. I request that my grievance be resolved and that Garmin Turkey carefully evaluate this matter to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
