Garanti BBVA Used My Overdraft Without Consent Leaving My Account Negative
Garanti Bank used my overdraft account to pay my overdue credit card debt without my permission, leaving my account in the negative. I had planned to restructure my credit card debt, but now I am unable to proceed due to this transaction conducted without my knowledge. There are two main issues here. First, how can Garanti Bank use my overdraft account, essentially putting it in the negative, to cover my debt with funds that are not actually mine? Second, when I contacted the call center, they informed me that the branch conducted this transaction. Yet, when I called the branch, they claimed it was done by the head office, and then, during a follow-up call, insisted it was the branch’s decision. I feel Garanti Bank is disregarding my concerns. If this issue is not resolved, I will file a complaint about unauthorized transactions. Additionally, what sense does it make to clear my debt by putting my account in the red? If that is the approach, why not go all the way and take out a loan in my name to cover my entire debt since I already have a credit limit with the bank!
