Garanti BBVA Credit Card Payment Complaint
On July 23, 2023, my father passed away. He had a credit card debt from Garanti Bank. Despite many attempts to call the bank (via the general hotline), I was promised that they would offer information on the account into which I should deposit the funds together with the debt. Unfortunately, there has been no answer. My phone number is on file with the bank, and I have call logs and voice recordings to back it up. When I contacted to inquire about the debt status and seek the account number to make a payment, I was told (via recorded message) that the debt had been transferred to a lawyer and that I should contact the law firm. I received no communication, and this negligence is inexcusable, especially given my continuous attempts to settle the amount by calling the bank. Beyond negligence, this appears to be opportunism. The law company is contemplating outrageous debt interest and enforcement attachments without giving me any prior notice.
