Garanti BBVA Blocked My Account and Refuses to Help Me Pay Off My Loan
I want to share my experience with Garanti BBVA. I have been a customer of this bank for several years and always adhered to payment deadlines for my loans. Last year, because I was two days late on my credit card loan payment, they restricted several features, such as cash withdrawals and money transfers. Can you believe that? Despite this, I continued fulfilling my commitments to them. I faced some health issues and lost my job two months ago, so I couldn’t make my loan payment last month. Since then, they’ve been bombarding me with constant SMS messages and calls, yet no one speaks when I answer. I’ve tried calling them, but since I live outside Turkey and my Turkish isn’t fluent, no one helps me. I’ve requested to speak with someone in English, but my calls are ignored. I tried to find a payment solution through the app and even attempted to restructure my loan in installments. However, despite government announcements about lower interest rates, the bank demands exorbitantly high rates. I am currently working at minimum wage, but my situation will improve in a few months, and I will be able to make payments. Yet, the bank keeps me on edge with threats and refuses to communicate. The loan balance has grown larger, and it feels like they are adding extra charges to inflate the amount. The bank provides no special assistance, and I even suspect my account may have been hacked. They are entirely unhelpful. I just need assistance to pay off my loan so I can close my account later. What can I do now?
