I'm sorry, but I'm having trouble comprehending. Can a bus driver request a passport from passengers (I'm definitely not underestimating)? It's quite ridiculous to think that a bus driver, who has been trained to drive buses, would be responsible for conducting passport checks. It is important that this is not left up to the driver's judgment. I hope that the Flixbus officials will address and correct these unauthorized actions.
