FitMe App Charged Me Without Consent After Scanning University QR Code

October 1, 2025 12:07 PM118

On October 1, 2025, while scanning a QR code at the Biogen Club booth at Yıldız Technical University to join the club, I entered my phone number. However, without my consent or knowledge, a FitMe app subscription was automatically started, and ₺239 ($7) was charged to my Vodafone bill. This transaction happened entirely without my approval.

As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted Vodafone Pay customer service. They told me the subscription was canceled and that no further charges would occur, but they also said the existing payment would not be refunded. My subscription was canceled around 11:20 a.m., and this happened only once. When I called Vodafone, they directed me to Paygru, but Paygru also refused to refund my money despite confirming that the subscription was canceled.

This unauthorized subscription and the resulting charge have caused serious inconvenience and financial loss. I request a full refund of the ₺239 ($7) and ask that preventive measures be taken to ensure this doesn’t happen to others.
