I use Finish dishwasher detergent regularly, but my dishwasher still has limescale buildup. What else can I do?

There are other ways to prevent limescale buildup in your dishwasher despite using Finish detergent.

Start with a Finish Dishwasher Cleaner cycle to remove buildup. Designed to remove grease, grime, and mineral deposits like limescale. Add a cup of white vinegar to the top rack of an empty dishwasher cycle after using Finish Dishwasher Cleaner. A mild acid like vinegar can dissolve limescale.

Manually clean spray arms and filters that are heavily affected. To remove stubborn limescale deposits, soak these parts in vinegar or use a dishwasher descaling solution.

Fill your dishwasher's rinse aid dispenser with Finish Rinse Aid to prevent buildup. Water sheeting dishes prevent spotting and mineral buildup. Hard water? Install a whole-house water softener. Water softeners remove minerals before they reach your dishwasher, preventing plumbing and appliance buildup.

Finish detergent may need to be adjusted for very hard water. Ask Finish's website or customer service if they recommend a higher detergent dosage for your water hardness. If Finish isn't enough, try hard water dishwasher detergents.
