Author's Book Plagiarism on eBay & Lack of Support
As a writer, my book has been copied by someone in Germany and listed for sale on eBay. Upon entering eBay's site, there's no system for contacting them directly. The live help robot states that as a new member, I can't contact them for 90 days. After struggling for about 45 minutes, I finally obtained an email address. However, when filling out the form, there wasn't an option that accurately described my issue. I had to write a lengthy explanation trying to convey the situation.
Upon receiving a second email, they mentioned that I left the company name blank on the form. I'm an author, not a company. Someone has unauthorizedly listed my book on your site, either selling it or selling pirated copies. They claimed to understand the situation and instructed me to fill out the form again, this time selecting option 2.1. Throughout this process, I received six more emails, each time having to explain the situation again. When I mentioned resorting to legal action, they said they would remove the book and advised me to select only option 4.2. However, I received seven more emails, each time stating that the form was incorrect and that I should actually select option 2. Some individuals are putting pirated copies on sites for sale, harming both me and authorized bookstores. The same issue was resolved on two other sites within two days of my complaint. However, eBay still insists on me filling out the same form, asking me to "select your issue from the list."
