Discord Sent a Security Code to My Phone Number Without My Consent
On June 3, 2026, at 4:10 PM, Discord sent a single security/verification code SMS to my Vodafone phone number ending in 26. Although I do not have any Discord account registered in my name, receiving such a verification code on my phone number has caused serious concern and discomfort because it suggests that someone may have attempted to access or use my personal information without my authorization. The phone line is registered in my name. I have never used this phone number on Discord, never transferred the number to anyone else, and have never gone through a phone number change or similar process related to this line.
Despite these facts, I do not accept the possibility that my phone number may be associated with any Discord account that was not created by me or that may have been created without my knowledge. I believe my personal data may have been used without my consent, and I am filing this complaint because of that concern. Additionally, after receiving this SMS, I did not receive any further notifications from Discord or through any other channel indicating that an account had been created or that any action had been taken involving my information.
If my phone number is stored anywhere within Discord’s systems, I request that it be permanently removed from all accounts and databases. I also request a thorough investigation to determine whether any Discord account has ever been associated with my phone number. Furthermore, I ask for a clear, detailed, and written explanation regarding the status and handling of my personal data. I expect this matter to be investigated promptly and would appreciate a response as soon as possible.
