Misleading Service From COSTEXT/CHAMSPY

I recently used the Costext (Chamspy) service to send a single text message from the internet to my own mobile number in order to test whether it works. For this one-time service, the system stated that I needed to pay $0.58, so on 6 June 2026 I entered my Smart Salary card details (Australia) and the payment was processed. I received the test text message as expected and, at that point, I understood that the transaction was completed as a one-time payment only. However, on the following day, 7 June 2026, I noticed that an additional $76.30 had been taken from my card without my consent or prior clear warning. The description stated that a subscription had been activated, even though I never knowingly signed up for any subscription plan. At no point during the initial $0.58 purchase was it made clear in a clear and prominent way that a trial would automatically convert into a $76.30 subscription after one day. I immediately contacted Costext / Chamspy customer support and was told that this was a subscription plan and that they would charge the full amount after one day when the trial period ended, and that I should have read their terms and conditions. I strongly disagree with this approach, because the page I used clearly appeared to be a simple one-time pay-and-send-text service, not a recurring subscription. I consider this practice misleading and feel that the way the charges and subscription were presented is very close to a legal scam. During my communication with support, they told me that a full refund would take 30 days and only offered to refund half of the amount immediately, which I reluctantly accepted under pressure, as I did not want to risk losing the entire sum. I have also cancelled the subscription with them. I received an email from them regarding this transaction and the communication, which can be presented as proof if needed. My clear expectation from Costext / Chamspy is to receive a full refund of the $76.30 that was charged for the unwanted subscription, not just half, and to have any active or future subscription fully cancelled. I also request that my card details and any payment information stored in their system be deleted, and that they provide written confirmation that no further charges will be made to my card.
