Costa Coffee Served Moldy Pastry—Hygiene Concerns Need Immediate Attention

Today, I visited the Costa Coffee branch at Tema World and ordered a cheese pastry and coffee. As a loyal fan of the Costa Coffee brand, I trusted the quality and safety of their food. However, while eating the pastry, I discovered it was moldy.
It is the brand's responsibility to ensure that food sold is thoroughly checked for freshness, especially when displayed for customers. Instead, I, as a customer, had to experience this unacceptable issue firsthand. Upon showing the moldy pastry to the staff, they apologized and offered a replacement without my request. However, mold contamination is not isolated—it can spread, rendering such actions insufficient.
This incident has severely tarnished my perception of Costa Coffee, a brand I previously trusted. I expressed to the staff that I could not eat the replacement pastry, as the presence of mold left me feeling extremely uneasy.
I urge Costa Coffee to take immediate action to address this issue and ensure proper food safety practices are implemented at all branches. Customers should never have to experience such neglect.
