Brita Marella Jug Broke and Maxtra Filters Not Improving Water

I have been using a Brita Marella jug with Maxtra filters for about eight months and I am very disappointed with the product performance. The filters do not improve the water at all and the result is practically the same as normal tap water, which I have also checked with measurements. In addition to this, the Marella pitcher itself broke in a very short time, which makes me seriously question the product quality and safety. When I contacted Brita/the seller about these problems, I was told that they could not accept returns, even though the product is clearly not working as expected and the pitcher has broken. As a consumer, I find this response unacceptable, because I bought these products specifically to have safer and better‑tasting water, and instead I ended up with a non‑functional filter system and a broken jug. In this situation, I request a refund for both the old and the new Maxtra filters I purchased, as well as a clear explanation of why the filters are not working properly and why the pitcher broke so quickly. I also want other consumers to be informed about this situation so they can make a conscious decision before buying.
