BlaBlaCar Driver Leaves Early Without Notice Despite Confirmed 8 AM Departure

For our BlaBlaCar trip on June 6, 2026, scheduled to depart from the Istanbul Incirli Metro stop at 8:00 a.m., the driver, n****, had confirmed our reservation. The trip clearly showed an 8:00 a.m. departure in the app, and we planned everything around that time. However, the driver sent a message at 7:07 a.m. asking, "Have you arrived?" — even so, since the system listed an 8:00 a.m. departure, we headed out based on that departure time. Trusting the 8:00 a.m. departure time, we arrived at the meeting point at 7:41 a.m., only to find out that the driver had already left without us. In other words, the trip listed for 8:00 a.m. had actually started much earlier with no notice given at all. Despite our confirmed reservation, we weren't called, nor were we given any reasonable waiting period. This irresponsible behavior caused us serious problems. We had agreed on $20 for two people, and afterward we had to buy tickets from another company, paying about $14 extra in the difference. Because of this delay and disruption, our entire schedule was thrown off — not just our travel time, but our whole day's plans were affected. But the real issue wasn't the money — it was the time we lost and the damage to the trust we had in both the driver and the BlaBlaCar platform. People plan around the departure times listed in the app; advertising an 8:00 a.m. departure and then leaving early without waiting for passengers is not acceptable, and it seriously undermines the platform's reliability. I'm requesting that BlaBlaCar conduct the necessary investigation into this matter, take action against the driver n****, and put the necessary measures in place to prevent similar situations from happening again. I'd also like this issue to be properly addressed and to be kept informed about the process.
