What to do if your Bestway filter pump pumps water poorly or won’t turn on:
Why the pump may pump poorly:
• Clogged cartridge or sand filter: debris quickly blocks flow.
• Dirty hoses/pipes: leaves, sand, and dirt reduce pressure.
• Pump placed too high: it must sit below water level for proper priming.
• Air in the system: air pockets stop water flow.
• Weak stock pump: many Bestway pumps struggle with larger pools.
Why the pump may not turn on:
• Overheating and auto-shutdown
• Water inside the electrical housing
• Faulty power button
• Bad outlet/extension cord
• Factory motor defect
What to do if the pump runs but pumps poorly:
• Wash or replace the cartridge (every 5–7 days in summer).
• Clean hoses thoroughly.
• Lower the pump below water level.
• Remove air pockets by briefly disconnecting a hose.
• Check for kinked hoses.
If the pump won’t turn on:
• Test another outlet.
• Ensure the plug is dry and tight.
• If water entered the casing — stop using immediately.
• Burning smell or clicking = serious defect.
If your Bestway pump still doesn’t work, file a complaint on Xolvie — faulty pumps qualify for replacement.
